About Us

Sarah is from Indiana (USA) and Carlos is from Madrid (Spain). We met in 2000 in Spain. We dated for over 3 years and have now been married for 4. Since we have been married we have lived in North America (Dallas, Atlanta and Indiana), Europe (Madrid and Denmark) and Latin America (Bolivia). We are currently living in Aalborg, Denmark.

We’re expecting a child at the end of July 2009.

About Our Cooking

The cooking here represents our different backgrounds and the different places we’ve lived. We like to try new things.

We like the cook book Laurel’s Kitchen, we have a copy from 1978. This one and the nutrition book Lets Eat Right to Keep Fit were classics in Sarah’s house. Spanish cooking has been mingled with these low-fat and 100% whole wheat ideas for a slightly more tasty, while perhaps adding a few more good calories.

We are not vegetarians, we use meat for flavoring and as a side dish, but rarely if ever, as a main dish.  We really like the concept of not eating too much, this was beautifully put in the article”Putting Meat Back in its Place“.

Finally, Sarah finds it really hard to make the same recipe twice so we encourage people to make their own inventions and alterations to these recipes. It’s important to acknowledge that Sarah is the chef and Carlos is more like the assistant. But Carlos is really excited about the blog. We hope you enjoy it.

Carlos is from Spain, so things won’t get too spicy here 🙂

  1. Well, I guess I am finally reading your BLOG. The whole idea of putting this stuff on line is amazing….I guess i should sent it to Carlos because I can only have the same meal 1 x per week. If it was up to Carlos (French Carlos) we would have the same thing 4 days in a row! Anyway, I just wanted to say that I am impressed with the blog. Sounds like you must spend a lot of time on it. Also, I will have to use some of these new recipes!

  2. So, Carlos and Sarah cook? I bet!!!

  3. HEY! Mmmmm…I’m hungry already 🙂 I’ll have to try some of your recipes -they look great! How do you maintain your herb garden? Is it easy? I want to do the same….

  4. The garden is really easy. We planted, waited about 3 weeks and then we had cilantro and basil. We just keep watering them. For the moment it seems to be working:)
