Papilla de Frutas

Papilla de Frutas

Papilla in English can be translated as “baby food”, so the translation should be “fruit baby food”. But this is not only for babies. Carlos many times enjoyed this fruit puree. With 5 younger siblings, and his grandpa working in a traditional fruit shop at Alcala de Henares, it was not strange to find this fresh meal in the family menu.

This is what we had last Saturday for breakfast. We had too many different fruits in the fruitbowl, so they had to go. Obviously you can put any fruit you want. This is what we put in. Apples, pears and oranges are the most typical combination.

  • 2 Apples
  • 1 banana
  • 2 kiwis
  • 1 Asian pear
  • 1 orange (has to be from Spain!)

Sometimes you can put a cookie/biscuit in it. Puree everything in the t-mix or any blender.

Eat everything before the vitamins are gone!

p.s. Sarah is convinced this a Spanish recipe, although Carlos can’t believe that all parents in the world do not make it.
